The left won the elections despite having withdrawn several dozen candidates to allow the conservatives or Macronists to win and thus prevent the success of the RN candidates. This gives it a moral claim. But it also has no Ruling majority. Difficult negotiations now begin – perhaps with the President’s middle camp Emmanuel Macron. We are talking about a “rainbow coalition”. But other options are also possible, such as a core group around the Macronists with conservative Republicans and social democrats.
