Berlin. Since the beginning of the month, contracted doctors can decide on the frequency and duration of certain measures from home nursing transferred to nursing specialists. To do this, you can issue a blank prescription. However, according to the KBV, caution is advised in this case, because in some cases the necessary contracts between nursing service associations and statutory health insurers at the state level are still missing.
Contracts are a prerequisite for nursing professionals to be able to accept blank medical prescriptions. They regulate the qualifications that nursing professionals must have in order to be able to decide on the frequency and duration of a measure, and what remuneration is available for this. Without a contract, it is possible that the health insurance company will not approve the service later. This, in turn, could result in additional workload for practices.
The KBV therefore advises that blank prescriptions should only be issued if there is a guarantee that they will be accepted by the nursing services. Otherwise, as before, doctors must decide for themselves the frequency and duration of all measures. (eb)
