Duplantis was drunk after his air show. “I still haven’t processed how amazing that moment was,” the Swede celebrated. “Since I was a kid, my biggest dream has been to break the world record at the Olympics. And now I’ve done it, in front of the craziest crowd I’ve ever competed in. It was so loud in there, like an American football game. I have some experience in a 100,000-capacity stadium, but I’ve never been the center of attention. I was just trying to channel the energy that everyone gave me, and they gave me a lot.”
