It goes without saying that the weekend was defined by the drop of Beyoncé’s latest album, Act II: Cowboy Carter. From infectious bops to poignant ballads, each track boasted a unique country twist, taking listeners on a diverse musical odyssey across its 27-song roster. Collaborations with artists such as Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Shaboozey, Linda Martell, and Willie Jones added layers of brilliance to the album’s already vibrant tapestry. Although the album dropped only a few days prior, Beyoncé’s unparalleled talent and pioneering vision were duly acknowledged at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Bey received the prestigious Innovator Award while wearing a legendary Western ensemble sourced from one of fashion’s most coveted collections: a vintage black leather Versace autumn-winter 1992 set—designed by its late founder Gianni Versace and originally modeled by Naomi Campbell—consisting of a fringed jacket and skintight trousers, both of which were decorated with gold Medusa hardware. She topped it all off with a Versace cowboy hat from the brand’s spring-summer 2018 collection.

The singer graciously accepted her award from the legendary Stevie Wonder, while acknowledging his groundbreaking influence and soulful harmonica contribution on her rendition of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene.” To celebrate this monumental milestone in her illustrious music career, it was only fitting that Beyoncé wore a piece of fashion history to mark the occasion.
