This is especially true when it comes to the south or east, as an analysis of current fuel price data from the EU Commission as of June 17 shows. Converted to a 50 liter tank, in countries neighboring Germany it can sometimes cost more than 15 euros to save. But it’s not always financially sensible to refuel across the border.
O cheaper gasoline among Germany’s neighboring countries there are Poland. The price per liter of Super E5 is almost 34 cents lower than in Germany. Cheap gasoline in the West only in Luxembourg
Anyone driving through Austria towards Italy will need to fill up their tank in the Alpine republic. In Italy Petrol is 3 cents more expensive than in Germany, diesel around 4 cents – and significantly more expensive than in Austria. If, on the other hand, you continue to Slovenia or Croatia, the refueling stop in Austria is not worth it. Gasoline is in Slovenia 33 cents, in Croatia 29 cents per liter cheaper than in Germany and therefore also undercuts Austrian prices. This also applies to diesel with a price advantage of 17 or 13 cents compared to Germany.

In France Petrol is 2 cents more expensive, diesel 3 cents more expensive Netherlands they are 17 and 6 cents, respectively. Prices may vary
Those mentioned Price differences are based – with the exception of Switzerland – on EU Commission data from 17 June. As a general rule, they change much more slowly than prices themselves, as influencing factors, such as rising or falling oil prices, have an impact on all countries. The most important reason for price differences is taxes and fees.
However, there are some deviations over time: Price advantages compared to Germany have increased slightly in most countries compared to the situation before the Pentecost holidays. Furthermore, prices sometimes vary significantly from gas station to gas station, depending on the region and time of day. In some countries prices are also Highways significantly higher than on rural roads.
If you are still refueling in Germany, ADAC advises that you do so the night before your departure. So prices are usually a few cents lower than in the morning.
