Berlin. Across Wegner’s roster, the personnel carousel is spinning very quickly. The 29 euro ticket is apparently to blame for the recent decline.
There is something happening in our village of millions. Now the Senate has lost its next leader: State Secretary for Transport, Stutz, takes off her hat and returns to the Federal Ministry of Transport. It’s probably stormy there. Perhaps she feared that her new boss, Ute Bonde, would abandon her with the same severity that Interior Senator Spranger did with his State Secretary, Böcker-Giannini. Like, if the two transport experts actually argued about the 29 euro ticket, I can only say: it wouldn’t have been necessary. Given our huge budget deficit, Billich’s controversial proposal is unlikely to survive the next round of austerity.
