After the DKG and the Association of Private Clinics (BDPK), the Federal Chamber of Doctors and Psychotherapists, the Working Group of Medical Scientific Societies (AWMF) also raises doubts about the informative value of the interactive database. In its current form, “the information provided is not reliable,” according to the statement AWMF Commission “Supply structures”.
The main criticism from representatives of specialized societies is that “the preliminary nature of the data, on the one hand, and the lack of data quality control, on the other, are not clear enough”.
There are also technical errors “including the lack of separation of primary and secondary diagnoses and the poor link between diagnoses and procedures”. As a result, patients may be misguided and clinics may be harmed.
The majority of committee members spontaneously shared the assessment “that the Federal Clinical Atlas should be shut down again until it provides more reliable information”, he continues. Ultimately, however, the medical experts admit the temporary nature of the inadequacies identified in their agreed statement. At the very least, according to the commission’s recommendation, the information in the atlas should be “clearly visible and understandable to lay people” and marked as “provisional” or as a “test version”.
