ZDF journalist Matias Fornoff must prematurely give up an important leadership role at the public broadcaster. From Saturday (1 June), the 60-year-old will no longer be head of the main political and current affairs editorial department, as announced by Second German Television (ZDF). “Bild” had already reported about this.
In fact, Fornoff was supposed to take over as head coach on November 1 ZDF journalist Shakuntala Banerjee delivered, as announced by ZDF in April. According to ZDF, deputy chief Antje Pieper will take on the role on an interim basis until Banerjee takes up the role in November.
