Hamburg. Asklepios Clinics has announced a new training program for medical students: PJ Plus is scheduled to start in November at two clinics in Hamburg and can be completed in addition to the usual PJ sections.

The goal of the program is to gradually expand students’ medical skills and gradually give them more responsibilities in clinical work. According to Medical Director Dr. Dr. Sara Sheikhzadeh “it allows for an ideal entry into professional life”. “Through the practical focus with close personal support, participants can better take advantage of the opportunities that a medical activity in the clinic offers in general and especially with us,” said Sheikhzadeh. .

The program includes, among other things, a special training platform for interactive support and deepening of the learning process and for networking with each other. PJ Plus also includes a standardized support program for integration into the day-to-day running of the hospital and the local team.

Other features include:

  • Individual support from the PJ-Service central contact point to clarify doubts
  • Personal mentoring program with experienced doctors
  • Monthly salary of 400 euros gross

The program is scheduled to begin as a pilot project in November 2024 in the internal medicine department of Asklepios Barmbek and Wandsbek Clinics, with a total of 15 places available. Three levels of competence are planned with theory and practical parts. You will graduate with a certificate documenting the skills you acquired. In addition to a symptom-oriented anamnesis, physical and neurological examination, the basic skills to be acquired also include an ECG and ultrasound course, as well as the evaluation of laboratory findings. In the following steps, this knowledge is deepened and complemented with additional examination procedures. (di)
