Berlin. A search for him was carried out across Germany: a 15-year-old had been missing since 2017. But now he has reappeared.
After seven years of waiting and searching, there is one certainty: Till R., missing since September 2017, has reappeared. As the Middle Franconian police headquarters announced on Tuesday, the 15-year-old teenager from Markt Bibart in the Neustadt/Aisch-Bad Windsheim district, then 15 years old, contacted his family in April 2024. Loud was behind of the boy’s disappearance police no crime. “Investigators were finally able to clarify that Till R.’s disappearance was not based on a crime,” said police spokesman Michael Konrad.
According to information from “Nürnberger Nachrichten”, the boy was probably born in 2017 missingbecause he had problems at home. He left Markt Bibart under false pretenses to visit an online acquaintance in Lower Saxony. The 15-year-old is said to have explained to a youth welfare office that he no longer wanted to live with his parents. But due to his age, according to the “Nürnberger Nachrichten”, he was put on a train back to Franconia, where he never arrived. A good month later, the Berlin teenager contacted a friend; Until April 2024, this was the young man’s last sign of life.

Missing boy: Police investigate possible homicide
The police were unable to clarify the boy’s true whereabouts despite a public search in 2019. The Nuremberg-Fürth Public Prosecutor’s Office subsequently investigated with the Ansbach criminal police with a view to a possible Murder – but Till R. cannot be found.
The case attracted public attention in 2021 after the ZDF broadcast “File number XY: unresolved” was busy with this, and as a result there were a number of clues – which, however, did not lead to success. The Central Franconian police did not say on Tuesday where he ended up staying all these years, but when they contacted his parents, the whereabouts of the young man, now 21, were clarified and “the public search was revoked”.
