Berlin. Moderator Dirk Steffens has dedicated his life to exploring the Earth and has even dived with sharks. But one experience surpasses all others.
With “Wonders of our Earth – The Big GEO Quiz” (July 27 at 8:15 pm on RTL) It is Moderator Dirk Steffens experiment in his element. The 56-year-old has specialized in exploring our planet, notably with the documentary series “Earth X” “Fascination Earth”. In conversations he talks about exciting encounters – be it with snails and squirrels or sharks and poisonous snakes. But one experience from his broadcasts surpassed everything and continues to shape his life to this day.
You’ve changed the concept of your show: now you travel around the world with your crew while celebrity guests sit and ask questions in the studio, unlike before. That’s not entirely fair, is it?
Dirk Steffens: Yes, this is my unfair privilege, I admit. I have been doing television expeditions for my programs for 30 years and I admit that my life is like winning the lottery. Even if I granted everyone a win like this, unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.
