You don’t have to be a tennis superfan to watch the US Open—in fact, this year’s event is almost as much about fashion (on and off the court) as it is about your favorite players defending their titles. One particularly chic pro to watch? Naomi OsakaThe four-time Grand Slam champion is back on the field this year to compete for her third US Open title.
First of all we identified Osaka’s cute Nikes decorated with bows on clay. Then the looks just kept coming, with custom Nike outfits created with stylist Yoon Ahn that included a “daytime-friendly” green and an all-black look for nighttime matches. “I think colors give you power,” Osaka said of her tournament look in a statement to SELF. The green helps her feel at peace and serenity, while the black gives her strength: “I feel a little bit like Black Panther,” she explained.
The good news? You don’t have to know how to swing a racket to borrow Osaka’s US Open style. Today Nike is launching a brand new collection by the same designer, Nike Women by Yoon. The pieces all have a classic campus look, with varsity patches and retro Nike details.

“We live in a girl’s world and I wanted to embody that in Naomi’s on-court look and in the collection,” Ahn said of the line. “For Naomi’s look, she had a vision and it was my job as a designer to create something that she would feel confident and comfortable in when she steps out on the court and be able to express 100 percent of herself. The collection is an extension of that idea, allowing women to express their character and elevate their personal style.”
